Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 12, 2026

Teams Helper is a browser extension that helps users manage Microsoft Teams status, schedules, manual overrides, logs, and multiple Teams accounts. This Privacy Policy explains how Teams Helper collects, uses, stores, protects, and shares user data.

Data we collect or process

Depending on the features you use, Teams Helper collects or processes the following categories of user data:

  • Account and sign-in data: Google sign-in information, including your Google account email address, name, basic profile information, authentication result, and extension account identifiers.
  • Beta access and subscription data: beta request details, request notes you submit, approval status, plan selection, subscription status, Stripe customer or subscription identifiers, and related account status information.
  • Teams account data you choose to use: Teams account labels, Teams account email addresses, selected account type, account enabled settings, and account status snapshots.
  • Status and schedule data: status settings, availability choices, schedule rules, timeline rules, manual override settings, automatic session settings, idle or activity settings, and related status-change history shown in the extension.
  • Teams runtime data needed for status features: Teams page context, Teams presence endpoint information, request metadata, endpoint identifiers, session identifiers, and authentication artifacts such as browser cookies or request headers when needed to apply Teams status changes. Teams Helper does not collect your Microsoft Teams password.
  • Logs, diagnostics, and feedback: app logs, error messages, diagnostic events, feedback you submit, support messages, and redacted technical details used to troubleshoot the extension.
  • Device, browser, and technical data: extension version, install identifier or hashed install identifier, browser and extension environment, request timestamps, IP address or approximate network information visible to our hosting provider, security events, and backend request metadata.

How we collect data

  • From you directly when you sign in, request beta access, configure schedules, manage accounts, submit feedback, or contact support.
  • From Google sign-in and browser extension APIs when you authenticate and use extension features.
  • From Microsoft Teams pages and Teams network requests when the extension is active on supported Teams domains and needs to read or apply status-related information.
  • From the Teams Helper backend when it validates access, checks entitlement, records beta status, creates runtime instructions, processes feedback, or supports billing.
  • From security, hosting, and operational logs generated when your browser or the extension communicates with Teams Helper services.

How we use data

Teams Helper uses user data only to operate, secure, support, and improve the extension. Specifically, we use data to:

  • authenticate your extension account and keep your settings associated with the correct account;
  • manage beta access, paid access, subscriptions, and entitlement checks;
  • store and apply your Teams status schedules, manual overrides, account selections, and runtime settings;
  • communicate with Microsoft Teams services to apply status changes that you configure;
  • show logs and status history inside the extension;
  • detect errors, prevent abuse, protect the service, verify extension integrity, and troubleshoot issues;
  • respond to support requests, beta feedback, and service questions;
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce applicable terms.

How and where data is stored

  • In your browser: Teams Helper stores extension settings, runtime state, schedule settings, logs, account selections, and temporary status data using browser extension storage and related browser APIs.
  • On Teams Helper backend systems: Teams Helper may store account records, beta access records, entitlement records, subscription status, install or session identifiers, feedback, audit logs, runtime configuration, and security metadata in backend systems hosted on Cloudflare.
  • With service providers: Google/Firebase may store sign-in and authentication data, Stripe may store billing and subscription data if you purchase a plan, Microsoft processes Teams-related data through Microsoft Teams services, and Cloudflare processes hosting, database, request, and security data for Teams Helper.

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including access controls, HTTPS, token handling, redaction of sensitive diagnostic text where practical, and backend security checks. No method of transmission or storage is guaranteed to be perfectly secure.

How we share data and the parties we share it with

Teams Helper does not sell user data and does not share user data with third-party advertisers or data brokers. Teams Helper shares user data only as needed with the following parties:

  • Google and Firebase: for Google sign-in, identity verification, authentication, extension account setup, and related security checks.
  • Google Chrome Web Store and the browser platform: for extension distribution, installation, updates, browser extension APIs, and Chrome Web Store listing or support interactions.
  • Microsoft and Microsoft Teams services: to operate Teams status features, apply the status changes you configure, interact with supported Teams domains, and process Teams authentication or presence requests. Your use of Microsoft Teams is also governed by Microsoft and your organization, school, or workplace policies.
  • Cloudflare: for hosting the Teams Helper website and backend, processing extension API requests, storing backend data, protecting the service, and operating Cloudflare Workers and related database/security services.
  • Stripe: for checkout, subscription management, billing portal access, payment processing, fraud prevention, and billing records if you choose a paid plan. Teams Helper does not receive or store full payment card numbers.
  • Support and operations providers: when needed to receive, route, or respond to support messages, beta feedback, and operational notices.
  • Legal, safety, or compliance recipients: if disclosure is required by law, legal process, security investigation, fraud prevention, or protection of the rights, safety, and integrity of users, Teams Helper, Microsoft Teams, or the public.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We do not use your data for third-party advertising.
  • We do not intentionally collect Microsoft Teams message content, chat history, meeting content, files, contacts, or passwords.
  • We do not use Teams data for purposes unrelated to providing Teams Helper features, security, support, billing, or legal compliance.

Browser extension permissions

Teams Helper requests browser permissions needed to provide its features, such as identity, storage, tabs, alarms, idle detection, cookies, web request access, declarative network request access with host access, and access to supported Microsoft Teams, Microsoft login, and Teams Helper service domains. These permissions are used to sign you in, store settings, detect the relevant Teams session, apply status settings, support automatic session behavior when enabled, and communicate with Teams Helper backend services.

Google sign-in

A Google account is used to sign in to the extension and request beta or paid access. Google sign-in is used to identify your Teams Helper account, manage access, and protect the service. Google handles its own authentication systems under Google's applicable privacy terms.

Microsoft Teams

Teams Helper works with Microsoft Teams status controls in your browser. Microsoft Teams, Microsoft login services, and your organization may process your Teams account, Teams status, and related Teams activity under their own policies. Teams Helper is not Microsoft, and Microsoft is not responsible for Teams Helper.

Payments

If you choose a paid plan, payment and billing are handled by Stripe. Stripe may receive your email address, selected plan, customer identifier, payment information, billing details, subscription status, and transaction metadata. Teams Helper stores subscription status and Stripe identifiers needed to confirm access, but does not store full card numbers.

Data retention

We keep user data only as long as reasonably needed to provide the extension, operate beta or paid access, maintain security, troubleshoot issues, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service. Local browser data remains until you change settings, clear extension data, or uninstall the extension. Backend account, beta, subscription, audit, and support records may be retained while your account or subscription is active and for a reasonable period afterward for legal, security, and operational purposes.

Your choices and deletion

  • You can stop using Teams Helper at any time by signing out, disabling the extension, clearing extension data, or uninstalling the extension.
  • You can change or delete schedules, account labels, manual overrides, logs, and settings inside the extension where available.
  • You may request deletion of backend account, beta, feedback, or support data by contacting Teams Helper through the support email or support link listed with the extension or Chrome Web Store listing. Some records may be retained when required for security, legal, billing, abuse prevention, or compliance reasons.

Children

Teams Helper is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as the extension, beta, paid plans, backend systems, or legal requirements change. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated date.

Contact

For privacy questions, deletion requests, or data questions, contact Teams Helper through the support email or support link provided with the extension, Chrome Web Store listing, or beta access instructions.
